அன்றே மறப்பது நன்று
Once there lived a merchant named Dharma. He lived well and good affluent life in a big house. His work is to take the goods and sell it by taking it to different places. He earned well in his trade. He bought a high breed dog to safeguard his house when he is out of home as his work is to go to many places and can’t stay much at home.
The dog was very brave and brilliant. It safeguarded the house so well. Dharma was also very fond of the dog and took a good care on him. He provided it with proper food which the dog liked much. Everyone in the village came to know about the dog and its brilliance and also his bond with Dharma.
One day he went to nearby towns to sell his goods. He sold all his goods in the market with good profit and returning home. Meanwhile in the village some theives have planned to rob his house. That night Dharma just returned from the town and was sleeping. The dog barked to intimate Dharma, as soon as the theives entered. They had sharp weapons to attack.
The theives were ready to attack Dharma but the dog barked and fought against the theives to save Dharma. It started attack them with his sharp teeth and claws. As soon as Dharma woke up from sleep he could realize what had happened. He was happy that himself and his wealth was saved. But the dog was very much injured as the theives hit it when they tried to save themselves.
After this incident the dog couldn’t be much active as before and its wounds became serious. Now Dharma felt that this dog cannot serve him anymore so he didn’t help the dog with any medications and also stopped serving him proper food. He just forgot the dog wounded this much only to save him.
He forget the help done by the dog and told his servants to shift the dog somewhere else as there is no use of it anymore. Now again the theives planned to rob Dharma’s house. This time they were successful in looting the wealth.
Dharma was shocked to know that all his wealth was stolen by theives. And also he felt for what he did for his dog. So never forget the help done by others.
